There are three key elements to consider when shopping for the best dog beds for dogs aging; warmth, pressure fall, and size. According to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, warmth is very important for dogs with dysplasia; common diseases in older dogs.

Just as people with arthritis, the pain worsened the dog in wet and cold weather. Be sure to keep an older dog in the room and look for a bed with a heating element. Experts warn against using a heating pad. Although it will reduce the pain, there is a great risk of burning your dog.

A better way to provide warmth for Fido is to put a fleece blanket in dog beds. It's easier to take a blanket and throw it in the washing than to take cover from a dog bed, washed and then put it back.

If you've ever had a sore shoulder after sitting at the computer for hours you know how it feels when someone massaging the sore spot. Believe it or not, you can offer the same assistance for your pet gently rubs in circular motion joints.

If your dog must climb a ladder to get in and out of the house, you can consider installing a road to ease the pain. And if you have thrown rugs on the slippery kitchen floor, make sure to use carpet tape to tape them down so the dog does not surf in your kitchen.

But the easiest thing you can do to reduce the stress on the joints is to give your best friend the best dog bed. Just like in the Goldilocks story should not be too soft (it would be too difficult for him to get out of it) and it should not be too hard (which negates the reason to get a bed). It must be right.
